BACKGROUND

Born in Toronto, Canada, Melinda grew up in the San Fernando Valley, where she attended Taft High School. She earned her degree in English from the University of California Los Angeles and remains a proud Bruin.

Melinda now makes Culver City her home, where she and her husband raised two daughters, and where they enjoy being close to everything Los Angeles has to offer.

Prior to Green Hills Memorial Park, Melinda was a producer for large‐scale live events and celebrity weddings. In search of another path to "pay it forward," in 2013 she began working for a memorial park and recognized her strength to effectively assist families in need of a trusted advisor.

THE GREEN HILLS COMMUNITY

Melinda lost her father when she was in her 20's and clearly recalls the difficulty and confusion in the process of choosing property and making funeral arrangements. She and her sister assumed full responsibility, and they remember the experience as devastating, both emotionally and financially. Learning that her mother and step‐father had made their made advanced plans years before came as a welcoming relief to Melinda, and she is on a mission to help as many people possible to protect their families from unnecessary hardship when losing a loved one. She's honored when families extend their trust in allowing her to guide them through one of life's most significant events.

One of Melinda's most valued opportunities is presenting the Green Hills' Personal Planning Guide, an indispensable tool for organizing one's plans, financial data and other vital information. She recognizes that planning and communication is the key to all of life's transitions. Her most memorable moment at Green Hills was assisting the family of a first responder. The route leading to his final resting place was lined with American flags, making for a beautiful presentation. It was a heartwarming way to honor his family.

OFF THE CLOCK

Melinda maintains an active volunteer schedule participating in fundraising efforts for the Los Angeles Zimmer Children's Museum and is an active supporter of Soup Sisters, providing nourishing and nurturing soup to women and children fleeing domestic violence. And to fill any gaps of free time, Melinda is a member of the Kehillat Israel Choir.

If its winter then you can be assured Melinda will be hitting the slopes of Mammoth. There's something to be said about the peacefulness of trekking down a snow covered mountain. She has toured through Australia (where she lived for 3 years), Asia (including a cycling trip through Vietnam), Israel and Europe, and looks forward to seeing Africa and South America in the future.
