The daughter of a Los Angeles police officer, Ann grew up in the city of Garden Grove where she attended Pacifica High School. In 1992 she moved to Pasadena where she raised her three children as a stay at home mother while also affording her the opportunity to attend college. Today, Ann is blessed to be a proud Grandmother of a beautiful, healthy little girl. Before coming to Green Hills Memorial Park, Ann had her own manufacturing business where she worked alongside her husband. She later changed career paths and began working for Rose Hills Memorial Park as an Advanced Planning counselor. In 2007 her husband, a Vietnam veteran decorated with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, passed away from a rare form of cancer. Ann needed a change and found a liking to advertising where she worked for both the LANG group and Image Magazine.
THE GREEN HILLS COMMUNITY
Ann has worked for Green Hills Memorial Park since December 2012, and reunited with a former manager, Chris Wendel – Sales Director. She quickly came to love the culture and family like atmosphere. Ann prefers the privately held company rather than the large corporate conglomerates found within the industry. She acknowledges it provides more freedom to care for families with many options and amazing community events. Ann’s most memorable time in this position was when her father passed. He had made all of his arrangements in advance, truly a gift to Ann, her siblings and his wife. Even though her father was gone, she was grateful once again he took care of them.
OFF THE CLOCK
When not at Green Hills, Ann continues to work on her book “Andy’s Mom” which is about the inspiration her disabled son provides daily. Andy was never supposed to walk or speak yet today plays basketball, is a gold medalist in the Special Olympics, bowls and dances to his heart content. Her annual trips to Rockport, MA each summer is something Ann looks forward to where she gets to completely unwind. In addition, she loves to travel visiting most of the U.S. and as far as New Zealand.
