Adrienne is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and attended the private college preparatory school of Lovett. It was at Lovett where she received her whole child education that taught kids to thrive in school and in life by developing intellect and confidence. It also prioritized the formation of good character and encouraged it through unique community experiences.
After high school, Adrienne continued her education at the University of Virginia receiving a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication Studies. During her college years she was afforded an opportunity for an internship in London, England.
Adrienne moved from Atlanta in 1991 and made her way west with short stays in Aspen and Denver, Colorado. She was a resident of Hermosa Beach for an extended number of years where she gained her passion for being a part of a community. She now lives in Redondo Beach enjoying her continued close proximity to the ocean.
Adrienne’s career includes 15 ½ years as an account executive with Easy Reader Publications, headquartered in Hermosa Beach. She also continues her inspirational/motivational speaking, sharing her excitement of life after battling cancer and given a 1% chance of surviving at the age of 14.
THE GREEN HILLS COMMUNITY
Joining the Green Hills team in January, 2017, was not necessarily unfamiliar territory for Adrienne. Green Hills had been advertising with her prior employer for over 10 years which allowed Adrienne to build relationships with the Green Hills team. She will quickly share that she loves meeting with families and helping in so many ways as her favorite part of her job. From advance planning for property and arrangements, to assisting visitors within the park, she understands the impact and bright light she can shine on so many.
Her most memorable moment came at the end of a day, just as the park was closing, when she was greeted by two guests seeking help in locating a loved one. Adrienne treasured the smiles on the two elderly visitors as she helped them uncover the flower vase and place flowers on the loved one’s site. It was overwhelming joy and pure satisfaction how a small task could be so meaningful to someone.
OFF THE CLOCK
Adrienne founded her own Adrienne’s Search for Children’s Cancer Cure over 13 years ago raising well over $200,000 for a much needed cause. In addition to her fundraiser, Adrienne has contributed to community organizations such as the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club. Most recently she was awarded “Woman of the Year” for 2018 where she was honored during a spectacular evening at the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach.
A well-traveled life has afforded Adrienne visits to over 30 countries with some of her favorite places being Santorini, Phuket, Florence, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. St. Petersburg, Russia is next on the dream trip list.
