Green Hills Memorial Park is pleased to serve as a beautiful location for a wide range of community events, including special events, civic and cultural observances, musical, inter-denominational and annual events. These have become cherished traditions within our community. All Green Hills Memorial Park events are free of charge and we invite you to celebrate and commemorate these important occasions with us.
Green Hills Memorial Park Supports the City of Boston and Remembers the Victims of the “Marathon Bombing”
The management and staff of Green Hills Memorial Park joins the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) in support of the city Boston. We remember in our thoughts and prayers the victims of the terrorist attack on Monday, April 15, 2013 following the Boston Marathon. We thank the brave first responders and those who worked tirelessly to bring the terrorists to justice.
Historic St. Peter’s Church Tours
Visit the recently relocated and restored St. Peter’s Church.
San Pedro’s original house of worship was relocated to Green Hills Memorial Park in October 2011, “The Little White Church” has been restored to it’s former beauty and is available for tours daily. Please call (800) 597- 7331 to schedule a free tour of this Southbay landmark.
Holiday Concert and Memorial Tree Lighting
On Sunday, December 2nd, Green Hills Memorial Park hosted its first Holiday Concert and Memorial Tree Lighting at the Little White Church. Visitors were treated to music selections from The Bell Ringers of Saint Peter’s By The Sea, Holiday Jazz from Steve Catalano Music and traditional carols by A Little Dickens Carolers. Santa, Mrs. Claus and one of their trusty elves made a special appearance courtesy of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. Santa took the time to pose for photos with over 100 children. As the sun set, memorial Christmas trees were lit. These trees where decorated the memorial ornaments displaying the names of the loved ones of those in attendance.
Easter Sunrise Service – Sunday, March 31, 2013
We held our first Easter Sunrise Service in the spring of 1948. Today, ours is the largest Easter Sunrise outdoor service in the South Bay area. The multi-denominational service is celebrated in conjunction with the San Pedro Pastors Fellowship. All are welcome.

28th Annual Memorial Day Observance, Monday, May 27, 2013
We continue to honor our fallen soldiers with a special Memorial Day weekend event that draws over 15,000 visitors to the park. We are privileged to host California’s largest Memorial Day service, conducted annually at 10 AM.

Bereavement Sessions
Also available to those who have recently lost a loved one, at no charge, this grief support group meets at Green Hills Memorial Park the first Thursday of every month, 5 PM – 6:40 PM. For more information, contact (310) 521-4468.
Space Shuttle Endeavor Makes Fly-over at Green Hills Memorial Park
At 12:45 pm on Friday, September 21, 2012, the Space Shuttle Endeavor flew over Green Hills Memorial Park on the final leg of it’s final flight. The shuttle passed over Green Hills minutes before touching down at nearby Los Angeles International Ariport. Many onlookers took advantage of the unobstructed views at Green Hills to witness this historic moment.
